At his grandfather's shop in Domino City, a man was organizing cards to be put on display for the day. Yugi Muto, the King of Games, had been working like mad to make sure that everything was perfect for the next day. Taking a break to sit, he takes out his own deck and ruffles through it until he comes to his Dark Magician. Memories flood back to him from his childhood as his fingers move to caress the puzzle that he still wore around his neck. The next card was a new addition, one that he was quite happy to own and have in his deck. Taking the Vampire Lord from his deck, he looked long and hard at it before smiling while replacing it back into the deck quickly to go back to work. As he ran a hand through his hair he looked outside. How long had it been since Battle City Tournament now...It was hard to remember when so much time had passed and everyone now was pretty much grown up. At least Mokuba wasn't always getting kidnapped nowadays. He thought to himself and finally decided that he was done for the day, after unloading the last box of cards onto the shelf. Taking a step back he admired them for a bit before going to sit behind the counter and...well...wait. There was not much else to do seeing as how he had stayed up all night when he started to arrange the shelves in the store. As he sat there, he decided once more to take out his deck and ruffle through it...to reminisce some more.

He wasn't sneaking. He wasn't.
Yea okay he was.
He'd snuck out, not really easy in a suit, less easy to sneak when everyone simply nodded at him as he crouched down and dove under tables. They were rather use to his antics by now, and even if they weren't, they weren't about to say anything to the manager. For now, he was free, at least until someone called him back, for now he was free and his feet knew where to go.
Tossing back errant bangs out of his eyes, hands deep into his pockets he turned the corner and there it was, his best friends shop. Well what kind of sneaking out day would this be without a visit? Grinning to himself he hurries to the door and opens it up, stepping in.
One hand still in a pocket, posture relaxed and confident something he always had but now...not it was a whole different confidence. Waving lazily to his spiky haired friend, glad to see him "Hey there Yug." he says lazily, his voice had deepened over the years, giving him one that had most fairer sexes swooning, ha, he could have them eating out of his hand like that teme if he wanted it...or...you know..if he liked them at all. Poor Mai.
Walking closer he leans on the counter, glancing down to the display and then his tired expression "stay up all night again?"

Bakura was walking down the city. But this wasn't regular Bakura. Yami decided to take a small walk to visit a dear old 'friend'. Of course, the Pharaoh wouldn't show himself. But at least he would see Yugi Muto. Also, Yami wouldn't talk. Bakura would. Afterall...No since in blowing his cover when Bakura is still a valueable pawn!.
"Now, once I see the boy, I want you to have a casual talk...and try to see his deck. I need to know if his stragey has change. Once I know, I'll be fully prepared to defeat him once and for all!"
Bakura was in his mind, nodding. Awne was still in danger..and even if he seperated from her, Yami still would hurt her, or even kill her! Yami continued walking down and when he reached the card store, he knocked on the door. At that moment he changed into Bkaura. 'You know what to do, fool!'

Yugi looks up immediately and rushes over to hug his friend as soon as he heard his voice. If Joey was not careful, he might just find himself on the floor with his longtime friend. Poor Yugi, it had been a long few days with no visitors. "Jou!" He takes a moment to compose himself, "Yeah...These cards won't display themselves...though then again if they could it just wouldn't be as fun." A hand reaches into his own pocket and pulls out his deck with a sheepish smile "I...made some changes but I'm still not done yet." Putting it back in his pocket, his ears hear the knock on the door.
Yugi walks over to the door and opens it, almost with an expectant look. "Sorry, Sorry! I forgot to put the open sign-Bakura!" This was certainly a good day. Two friends in the same day?? If that was enough to get him excited then he needed to leave the shop more often. "Come in! I just finished stocking the new displays. Jou is here too!" He points to his other friend and smiles "See Joey?" he said with a friendly teasing tone at the mention of Jou's childhood name "I guess today wasn't going to be so bad after-all."

Jou should have expected it, really he should have it was Yuugi after all.
Still...he didn't expect it, and had enough time to wrap his arms around his friend before he was toppling over to land hard on his back with an oof. Still he was laughing, hugging his friend tight before letting him go at the knock. Glancing to his hand and the deck, additions? Yuugi?
"Don't change it too much Yuug." he says, sitting up and rubbing his back faintly, making sure the little guy didn't see him. Standing he offers a vague wave then makes a face at his childhood name "Yuug" he whines, oh how he hated that nick name now.
Chuckling faintly he leans against the counter "let the poor guy in Yuug, How are ya 'kura-kun?" he says in his own teasing voice, chuckling faintly.

He heard some noises and wondered if this was a bad time. Bakura smiled when Yugi answered the door. "Hey there, Yugi! I guess my visit is indeed a surprise by your shock." Bakura laughed at himself. Then he looked back at Yugi. 'That loser Joey too? You might as well see his too. Afterall, that fool is like Yugi's patheic guard dog.' Bakura smiled at Joey's words as he walked in. "So, disliking the Joey name now?" He laughed once more. He was in his work suit, so he shuffled his clothes at time. "How are you all? And I'm excellent!"

Yugi takes a moment to wipe an embarrassed look off of his face before answering Bakura with a friendly smile, hand going to the back of his head "I'm alright...just tired is all but I suppose that it beats a lot of other things that could be wrong..." Looking back to Juo he shook his head and patted his pocket "Not too many, but definitely one or two that would surprise just about anyone." Looking down for a moment he thinks hard and mutters "I'll need to find someone to duel against..." An idea pops into his head before he turns to his two friends "Would one of you be willing to duel me? Just so I can see how the deck will work?? I don't mind who it is...the two of you can flip a coin if you want."

Jou chuckles at the pair "Joey is in the past, some punk kid who couldn't hold his temper or figure out who he was. nah, I'm Jou. well...to you guys at least, my workers still have to call me Mr. Katsuya or in that rare case Katsuya-san." he grins "I like that one, makes me feel all distinguished."
He brushes at his suit for emphasis but was grinning to much to go for any type of distinguished pose. at the tri-colored ones question he shakes his head "Sorry Yug, deck's back at the hotel, have to set an example for the kids that get hired, if I don't carry my deck while I'm on the floor they don't get to carry theirs."

Bakura nodded at Yugi. While he spoke with Joey...err...Jou...he had to get used to that, Bakura thought for a moment. How was he going to go about to see Yuggi's deck without looking odd? Then Yugi brought up the subject of a duel. Yami grinned within the mind. 'Duel him. Win or lose, I'll still be a step ahead!!' Bakura nodded and smiled. In all his years, he never once dueled Yugi himself, only has Yami. "Then I can duel you." He pulled out his deck. "Duel Disk duel or regular and who first?"

Yugi gave a disappointed pout to Jou but then it quickly turned into a friendly smirk "You will owe me a duel then, okay Jonouchi?" Looking back to Bakura, he shrugged and looked around before saying "Duel Disk...and you can go first." He brought his deck out of his pocket and smiled down at it "I can't wait to finally see if my additions and changes are good....If not I guess I can always make another one." He looks back to Ryo "We should probably duel outside...I think it might be too cramped in the shop." he says with a smile as he walks outside into the fresh air, after grabbing his own duel disk and donning it.

Bakura nodded at Yugi and retrieved his Duel Disk from his backpack. As they walked outside and handed his deck to Yugi, while waiting to retrieve Yugi's to shuffle the deck. After return the deck, Bakura walked to the opposite side of Yugi. By this time, a couple people gatherd around to watch. He heard many murmered about Yugi.
Bakura launch the virtual emulators and Duel Disk. "Good luck, Yugi. My draw." He drew his hand and card as their life point reader reached 4000. He examined his cards and gasp. That card!? "I'll play the Field Spell, Mystic Plasma Zone. The field started to get cloudy, and those clouds vortexed in the sky with lightning.
"Then I'll set a card and summon Souls of the Forgotten in attack mode." Now the field showed the set card and Bakura's monster, which are literally a small group of purple souls, only growing a bit bigger thanks the field boost, making the monster now 1400 ATK and 0 DEF.

Yugi looked at the monster card before him and was almost lost for a moment. He had hardly ever battled without the Pharaoh..."Yugi, let me help you...we never can tell with Bakura." "Don't start that again...this is just a friendly duel but if it helps you can keep a lookout for anything suspicious." was the conversation in his mind with his long-time friend. Drawing his cards, he looked back at the field before declaring "I play a monster card, Vampire Lady, in attack mode." As soon as he layed it down a beautiful but pale woman in a long flowing dress would appear, looking at the souls menacingly as her fangs grow a bit longer due to the increase in attack. Thanks to your Mystic Plasma Zone her attack is now 2050 although her defence is now 1050. Since you only played two cards and no traps...I can attack without fear of anything bad happening. Vampire Lady, attack his Souls of the Forgotten and 650 of his life-points! I should also let you know, that her effect lets me declare one card type, monster magic or trap, to send to your graveyard from your deck. And I chose trap." He would wait though, hand on another card. If nothing else happened he would lay the other card face down in the magic and trap zone. "Your turn Bakura."

Jou chuckled at his tri-colored friend and moved to follow them, hands in his pockets as he takes a place against the wall. He views the crowd and shakes his head, Yuugi always managed to draw a crowd, but ah the duel was starting, and his attention moved to see what new cards his two friends had added lately.
A frown crosses his face, he had thought that without the spirit of the ring perhaps the white haired boy might have moved on to some sort of other cards...like angels or something...something like that favorite one of his. But no, spirit cards were still his main it seemed. And that field...he hoped Yuugi had something to combat the new strength of the others cards.
And he was not disappointed, not like he ever would be lets be serious here, Vampire Lady...beautiful and dangerous, what other dark type cards did the little guy pick up?

Bakura watched as Yugi drew his cards. 'You fool!! You should know that Souls of the Forgotten is more of a meat sheild card!' Bakura sighed softly. He didn't think about that. As Vampire Lady attacked his Souls, with gracefulness, yet terror. His Life Points went to 3350. When asked to release a trap to the grave, he chose his Just Desserts and shuffled the deck.
Once Yugi set his card and went to end his turn, Yami spoke. 'Activate now!!!' Bakura hesitated a bit. He was still afraid of the card. 'I do not torelate disobdience, fool! You know what will happen if you do so!!' Bakura nodded and spoke. "Wait! During your End Phase I activate Destiny Board! I think you remember this card...With that evil spirit that usedto be within me. Well now it's time to see if I can finish the word. Destiny Board! Spell the first letter! F!!! And since it's the end of your turn, I call out the second letter too! I!!!" With those words, the Board appeared, moving the searcher to spell F and I, which he got the I from his deck.
"Three turns and I win, Yugi. Now, my move." He looked at his hand. "I'll set a monster and activate Ekibyo Drakmord onn you Vampire Lady. This is a new card for me.. Now your monster can't attack and is destroy at the end of your 2nd turn. Your move, Yugi." With that, if his move was successful, his vapire would freeze up like a statue.

Yugi immediately new what Bakura was talking about all too well. It was the same five cards that had nearly beat him in the battle city finals. For a moment he was at a loss for words. Then he started to wonder just what his friend was still doing with those infernal cards! Never mind that now though, he had yet another thing to worry about. His Vampire Lady had no way to attack and he was running out of time...only three turns to turn this duel around.
He drew his next card with a stoic face, not wanting Jou to see the timidness that was playing in his mind. Looking at it, he immediately took a card from his hand and looked to Bakura. "This duel is far from won Bakura. In fact, I still have a few tricks of my own up my sleeve. Where it looks like you have kept the same deck for the most part I traded in a few of my old cards for some new bits...and here is one of them! I sacrifice my Vampire Lady for a more powerful Monster, Patrician of Darkness!" Vampire Lady vanished from the field and in her place a pale-skinned man took her place with fancy robes and two pointy fangs. "Once again I have to thank you Bakura, thanks to your own card he gains five hundred attack points, bringing him up to 2500 attack." He places his hand on another card. "I also activate the magic card, Book of Life. It allows me to bring back one Zombie from my graveyard and also allows me to remove one monster from yours, from the duel. Since you have only one left, your souls of the forgotten are my only option." Vampire Lady emerged to the field, very much able to attack now. "I am afraid your card that stopped her is no longer in play Bakura...And one more magic card before my next phase. Activate Mystical Space Typhoon on your letter F!" Yugi let slip a soft smile "Now that all of that is out of the way...Vampire Lady attack the facedown card (2050 ATK)." If that went successfully, he would also say "Patrician of Darkness! Attack him and take away 2500 lifepoints!" As he breathed a little easier, he said to Bakura "Your move Bakura."
