Lance thought for a moment about that. People being sent to the hospital. "Well, I suppose it can hurt someone since the Duel Disk System is virtual reality. It makes the monsters seem real, but the worst that can happen is possible that you can faint from exshaution, because we fight with all our might and heart. So that could be the reason. It's a brain thing.

Lance smiled. He was sure nothing dangerous would occur here at Duel Academy.

Awne offers a frown, that would explain a lot of why people exhibited such strange symptoms without any real wounds..it was all in their head..she was going to have to look into more psychology treatments...

Her chuckles faintly and tilts her head faintly "have you dueled a lot?" she asks curiously "Your parents must be very....proud...of you." or did they push him to be a duelist? or was it expected of him? She wondered if he had the luck to be a normal person who just chose what he wanted to do, or if it pushed upon him.

Lance smiled at her. "Well not here so much. See...Being a Slifer Red has it's price because I'm ranked the lowest. But like I said...I'll make it to the top, one way or another!" His pride and self-confidence in himself was his greatest quality. Nothing would bring him down from his dream.

"Well, I think so. I mean, I asked to go here because I live to duel. And they do say what makes me happy, makes them happy. So...yeah!" He thought to himself. It was his dream to become the best like his four idols! And his parents wanted to him suceed in his dreams.

She had to smile, how could she not? he was so sure of himself, so sure in what he would do and where he would go..how could she not smile and be just a bit jealous of that? His parents must be wonder, she thinks to herself.

"You make it sound like so much to duel, I'm starting to think I should learn." she laughs and pats his shoulder, ruffling his hair with a grin "what got you into dueling?" she'd seen the duels on the tv, watched in secret or when patients were watching in their rooms, she couldn't help but watch the ones with that rich one..Kaiba...she had seen a number of women fawn over him and not for dueling skills. She was one that fawned over both reasons.

Lance shuffled his hair when she did that. He smiled at her. "You should, Awne! It's an experience you never feel anywhere else. Espically when you duel with you're heart. But you have to always remember the first rule. Always to have fifun is that rule!"

He then of her next question. What got him into dueling? That was easy! "It has to be because I want to as good as my four idols, and then even better! Jaden Yuki, Syrus Truesdale, Seto Kaiba, and Yugi Muto are the greatest!!

Awne blinks but grins, she knew two of those! "I know of Mr. Kaiba! and Yugi Muto!" she beams proudly, finally able to have a part of the conversation that she did know. "I.." she looks around them, still nervous of the idea of admitting things like this, but...Lance was a cute kid, and he had yet to judge her.

"They're duels were the ones i'd tape, I never wanted to miss one and I wanted to be able to watch them over and over again." she sighs wistfully "Those dragons..I love those dragons he uses, I've always wanted one." she flushes and looks down, unable to meet his gaze "and yugi's Dark Magician. It's such a beautiful card." she sighs again, what she would give to have those..she'd treasure them for sure.

Realizing she had rather confessed, she glances to him and down to the floor "um..don't...don't tell anyone okay? People..tended to look at me weirdly..always felt like I was doing something wrong when I got those cards, I haven't been able to face another shop."
